I have always wanted to photograph the two bridges at the Severn estuary. Having crossed them on many occasions their structural design is imposing. One weekend that opportunity arose when I found myself with time to spare on the Bristol side, however the weather (therefore the lighting) might have been more favourable.
I am now at a location near Severn Beach and find myself underneath the roadway on the foreshore. This photograph illustrates the curvature of the bridge and roadway, the lighting is generally poor with the sky overcast, then a parting of the clouds lets through the rays of the evening sun and the photograph is made.
I will return in better light as I believe that there are more images to come from this bridge.
